Consolidated Fund to receive regulatory settlement money
The Gambling Commission decided that funds from future regulatory settlements should be paid to the Consolidated Fund following a consultation and consideration of responses, taking account of the Government's statutory levy and new levy commissioning structures. The Commission amended section 2.39 in the Statement of Principles for Determining Financial Penalties regarding the destination of future regulatory settlements.

Policing steps up enforcement of hunting prohibitions
The Finnish police have introduced a national procedure to record court-imposed hunting prohibitions in the police information system. Final court decisions on hunting prohibitions are forwarded to the registry of the police unit in the person's place of residence and entered as a wanted notice that is effective nationwide until the prohibition expires, to improve enforcement and prevention of hunting offences.
Commission to introduce Financial Risk Assessments in staged approach
The UK Gambling Commission will introduce Financial Risk Assessments (FRAs) in stages to identify and support high-spending customers in financial difficulties. Stage one will require the largest operators to carry out FRAs for customers exceeding £5,000 net deposits in a rolling 24-hour period, with later final thresholds set at £1,000/£3,000 for those 25+ and lower thresholds for under-25s; assessments will be document-free using Credit Reference Agencies and initially enforcement for failures to act on FRA results will not be taken during early implementation.

Anti-money laundering and counter terrorism laws cover thousands more businesses
From 1 July 2026, Australia's AML/CTF laws have been expanded to cover tens of thousands more businesses, including real estate agents, lawyers, conveyancers, accountants, and dealers in precious metals and stones. Businesses providing designated services must have an AML/CTF program, an AML compliance officer, train staff, and be ready to report, and must enrol with AUSTRAC by 29 July 2026; registration is required only for certain higher-risk services such as remittance and virtual asset services.

The Kahnawà:ke Gaming Commission (KGC) and the Six Nations Gaming Commission (SNGC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding renewing mutual support and cooperation. The MOU states the SNGC will enact regulations compatible with the KGC to establish land-based and online gaming regulation within Six Nations, and the KGC will assist the SNGC in developing a sustainable regulatory system, forming part of a broader reciprocal relationship.

The report attributes lower receipts to reduced gross gaming revenue due to player-protection measures, possible closures of physical venues, and a decrease in income from state participations.
