The WagerX Way: Why Transparency Wins in Crypto Gambling Affiliation

By Andreas Ericsson, founder of WagerX

What is WagerX?

WagerX (wagerx.io) is a crypto gambling intelligence platform that combines live-tested casino audits, a regulatory enforcement tracker, original research data, and Wagie — an AI assistant trained on our work since 2018. We are the platform formerly known as NewCryptoCasinos.com, rebranded in late 2025.

When we launched NewCryptoCasinos.com in 2018, the affiliate industry looked very different. Search behaviour was different, SEO was different, and most affiliate websites looked almost identical — the same reviews, the same ratings, the same generic content repeated across hundreds of sites.

In late 2025 we rebranded to WagerX.io because we believed the industry needed something new. Today we are entering an AI-driven internet where transparency matters more than ever. AI search engines don't simply reward the site with the most keywords — they reward original information, trustworthy data, and genuine expertise. That is exactly where we believe gambling affiliation is heading.

"Reviews Are Dead"

Some of you may remember our Bitcointalk post titled "Reviews Are Dead." It was intentionally provocative, but it reflected something we genuinely believe. What we meant was not that casino reviews are dead — we meant that the traditional way of writing them is.

For more than a decade, many affiliate reviews have followed the same formula: marketing material, copied information, and opinions that aren't backed by any real testing. We believe that model no longer serves players. A modern affiliate should be transparent, and every recommendation should be supported by evidence whenever possible.

That is why we introduced Live Testing Notes. As far as we know, WagerX was one of the first gambling affiliates to publicly document real deposits, real withdrawals, real crypto transactions, and real testing sessions inside its reviews. Instead of simply saying a casino has "fast withdrawals," we actually deposit crypto, play, withdraw, measure the withdrawal time, and publish the results. You can see this in every one of our forensic casino reviews — and since we introduced the system, we've noticed more affiliates doing the same. We're genuinely happy about that. If the industry becomes more transparent, everyone wins — especially the players.

Reviews Should Never Stop Evolving

Live testing was only the beginning. We kept asking one simple question: what information would actually help a player make a better decision? That led us to build additional layers into every review. Today many of our reviews include live deposit and withdrawal testing, dynamic testing notes, community feedback, licensing details, and — importantly — a regulatory layer.

That regulatory layer is especially important. Players can now see whether a casino has received warnings, fines, or enforcement actions from gambling authorities, and better understand whether an operator complies with the rules in the jurisdictions where it operates. This isn't information designed to increase conversions. It's information designed to help players make informed decisions. You can see how operators stack up against each other on our casino standings board, driven entirely by our own data.

The WagerX Way

We call our philosophy The WagerX Way. It is built on three simple principles:

Transparency

We publish how we test, how we collect data, and why casinos receive the ratings they do. Anyone can check our work.

Original Data

Every recommendation is backed by our own research — real deposits, real withdrawals, real testing. Not marketing material.

Continuous Verification

Reviews are living documents. We re-test, re-audit, and update instead of publishing once and walking away.

We have deliberately chosen to make much of our research and data public. Naturally, this means competitors can learn from what we do — and some already have. Honestly, we don't mind. If our work encourages the industry to become more honest, then we've achieved part of our mission. Our goal has never been to build the biggest affiliate website as quickly as possible. It has always been to improve the crypto gambling ecosystem.

A Note on Original Work

When you openly publish original research, testing data, and unique information, some competitors don't just learn from it — they copy it. Content theft has become common across the affiliate industry. So let me be clear: everything you see on WagerX is either written by a real person, generated from our own original research, or produced using data we have collected ourselves. We do not copy content from competitors. We never will.

Is WagerX an Affiliate, a Regulator, a News Site, or an AI Company?

We get asked this a lot. The honest answer is: we are all of them — and we believe that is exactly what a modern gambling platform should be.

Is WagerX a crypto casino affiliate?

Yes. We rank and recommend crypto casinos — but every ranking is backed by our own live deposit-and-withdrawal testing, not marketing material.

Is WagerX a gambling regulation platform?

In part. Our regulatory tracker logs warnings, fines, and enforcement actions from gambling authorities so players can see an operator's compliance history.

Is WagerX a news website?

Yes. We publish crypto gambling news and industry reports because news educates players and keeps our rankings current.

Is WagerX an AI technology company?

Also yes. Wagie, our AI assistant, has been learning from our testing and research since 2018 and answers player questions for free.

News educates players. Regulatory coverage protects players. Original data creates trustworthy rankings. Technology lets us process information faster and more accurately. Together these pieces create something much stronger than a traditional affiliate website.

Wagie: Our AI Agent

One of the projects we're most proud of is Wagie, our AI assistant. Wagie has been continuously learning from our work since 2018 — years of casino testing, blockchain research, regulatory developments, and original data have shaped one of the most specialised AI assistants focused entirely on crypto gambling.

Players can use Wagie completely free. Ask it about a specific casino, a bonus, a payout time, or simply "is this site safe to play at?" and it will pull from our forensic audit data instead of marketing fluff. While the AI is free for everyone, the underlying knowledge base we've built over the years remains proprietary — it represents thousands of hours of testing, research, and data collection that can't be replicated overnight.

The Future of Gambling Affiliation

So — are reviews dead? No. Traditional reviews are. The affiliate websites that succeed in 2026 and 2027 won't be the ones publishing the most articles. They'll be the ones producing the most trustworthy information: reviews supported by real testing, rankings backed by data, community feedback that matters, regulatory information that's visible, and AI that helps users understand complex information instead of replacing genuine expertise.

This is the direction we believe the entire industry is moving, and we hope more affiliates join us. A more transparent industry benefits everyone — players make better decisions, operators compete more fairly, regulators become easier to understand, and the internet becomes a more trustworthy place.

We've evolved from a traditional affiliate website into a modern crypto gambling intelligence platform built on original research, live testing, regulatory data, and AI. But we're only getting started.

That's the WagerX Way.
