Commencement of Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland Remote Betting Licences

The Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland commenced remote betting and betting intermediary licences on 1 July 2026, requiring licensed operators to meet obligations under the Gambling Regulation Act 2024 (including age verification, payout obligations, bans on facilitating credit and on accepting credit cards, account closure on request, and ongoing compliance monitoring). GRAI stated licences will be rolled out in phases with in-person betting licences to commence later in the year and applications for further licence types to open in 2027 and 2028.
