Commission supports police action targeting illegal gambling activity

The Gambling Commission supported South Yorkshire Police in coordinated operations (Operation Duxford and Operation Snaresbrook) on 4–5 August targeting illegal gambling and suspected organised criminal activity in Sheffield and Doncaster. Officers executed warrants at premises suspected of illegal gambling and money laundering, seizing sixteen illegal betting terminals, cash and gold, and arresting three people. The Commission said it will continue to work with police and partners to disrupt illegal gambling businesses.
