Court of Appeal refuses TNLC permission to appeal

The Court of Appeal refused The New Lottery Company Limited (TNLC) and Northern & Shell PLC permission to appeal part of an April 2026 High Court decision that had dismissed all claims against the Gambling Commission concerning the competition to award the Fourth National Lottery licence and subsequent contract modifications with Allwyn UK. The Court dismissed all three grounds of appeal and noted TNLC had suffered no practical loss; the Gambling Commission said the decision supports the operation of the National Lottery and Allwyn's continued investment plans.
