I Love Google

← Back to News

I know some of you are smiling right now, especially those who know me well and know how I have been struggling to get Google's attention over the years. But for those who don't, let's start from the beginning.

When I started my career as a blogger for crypto gambling, the industry was very young. To be exact, I wrote my first line of code and text back in February 2018 on a site I registered called newcryptocasinos.com. The idea wasn't to make money; I simply wanted to learn about these new casinos I was hearing about. I started reaching out to the few crypto casinos that looked promising, writing reviews and conducting interviews. After a couple of months, I started to rank on Google and saw a significant amount of traffic. I was over the moon.

However, as more crypto casinos launched, competitors began popping up. They were skilled, and they had every SEO trick in their pockets. Very quickly, we weren't the "top dog" anymore. Our presence on search engines went downhill, and we couldn't understand why.

I tried to be creative and get Google's attention for years. I created content specifically for the algorithm, but after a while, I gave up. At the same time, I realized that the domain newcryptocasinos.com wasn't "hot" anymore because the industry had moved on. That was how WagerX.io was born in late 2024.

It felt like starting from scratch. For a year, I continued to write for the search engines, trying to show them we had unique content, but nothing happened.

So, six months ago, I made a decision: I will only focus on my community. I decided to write posts for them, not for search engines. I forgot about rankings and just ran my own race. It felt good. We slowly watched our Reddit community grow, we saw more interest from Bitcointalk, and I knew I had made the right decision.

Then, out of the blue... we started getting visits from Google. Just like that. I couldn't believe my eyes. When the search engine realized I was writing for people instead of them, they actually rewarded me.

We now have a fully working AI where people can report complaints about casinos and get reports back instantly. We've evolved from being a blogger in 2018 to running a tech platform, still with that same passion.

So... I can now say that I love Google again. Never Give Up!
